Brave Sir Donald ran away.

Bravely ran away, away!

When danger reared its ugly head,

He bravely turned his tail and fled.

Yes, brave Sir Donald turned about

And gallantly he chickened out.

Bravely taking to his feet

He beat a very brave retreat,

Bravest of the brave, Sir Donald !

I love this story because of him thinking it may be a trap, saving himself, and letting everyone else in his cabinet risk getting blown up.

This is what is so wonderful about the maga movement. When it comes down to it, we would still treat them better than their cult leader would.

No matter how little respect for them we have, he values them even less!

We want them to have healthcare, a good wage, worker safety protections, and they absolutely hate us for that.

Yes, because you see, some of us are guilty of the crime of existing while being queer, non-white, or female, so obviously we must all be punished.

I want their kids to have outstanding schoosl and to be able to go to a trade school/community college/university/whatever without going into massive debt. I want them to have amazing park districts, and well funded libraries where their kids can participate in all sorts of activities.

I want them all to have clean air, safe drinking water.

I want their grandkids to live in a world not devastated by climate change.

And in their eyes I'm an evil 'communist' who should be beaten by cops.

It always gets worse. It’s the same pattern-a news story breaks, Trump lies about it , more developments make him look worse, he lies more and his supporters do the same.

Then he does something else wrong /dishonest /corrupt / outright evil and the media is distracted.

843

u/ArcticEngineer 14h ago

Canadian trade relations are about to hit the news again so I expect something asinine there to distract everyone.

The same way Republican voters love him for his normalization of pedophilia.

80

u/Unistrut 11h ago

Fun fact! You know how republicans are always fighting against teaching sex education to children? The lessons taught to the youngest kids aren't "how sex works" but "how to spot when someone is doing something they shouldn't".

republicans fight viciously against teaching children how to recognize sexual abuse. I wonder why that is?

Sorry, this fact was not actually fun.

Now new leaks make the story look darker: It turns out Trump brought several of the aides who are personally closest to him on the safe alternative flight. This, even as he left numerous journalists on the original plane, an extraordinarily derelict move that effectively turned them into a decoy that might have been targeted. Stunningly, none were informed of the operation.

Remember Fox News trashing on Mr. Rogers for supporting all children's emotional well-being, meanwhile Fox News hosts said those children don't deserve our support until they do something with their lives? Yeah, I could see Fox News saying, "Whose life is more valuable, the President or a toddler? Come on, this isn't even a question." and moving on the news cycle 24 hours later, while the rest of the US and world is shocked.

Didn't Rubio and another senior official fly on the dummy plane too? Surely they knew what was going on, do we think they were just "brave enough" to take the risk in order to "defend Dear Leader"? Or is it possible that even Rubio didn't know just what danger he was undertaking on that flight?

111

u/I_Usually_Need_Help 12h ago

Or Trump was convinced of this danger based on nothing and they were just humoring him because literally nobody has the balls to tell him no?

24

You should realise by now if he's getting rid of someone it's always because they failed to accomplish one of his corrupt schemes and he wants to replace them with someone next in line that's even more sycophant, more twisted and more capable.

13

u/BloomsdayDevice Washington 11h ago

I don't actually think he puts that much thought into it. If someone fails to do the thing he wants them to do, he just fires them. No complicated decoy scheme to make it look like a tragedy. Since his only motivations are self-preservation, self-fulfillment, and self-enrichment, in his head everyone but him is expendable and replaceable (although I don't think he could actually find anyone quite as ghoulishly terrible as Stephen Miller).

I think one difference there is that many inhis first term cabinet were actually competent at their jobs, and not yes-men.

56

u/DorfOnGenocide 14h ago

Even this current treasury guy makes Mnuchin look better. I just think the first time, they needed to rein everything in, just so they could look marketable for a second term. Now, that it is a second term, the focus is more on how much money they can pilfer and how the laws can be broken to create a third term.

49

u/whimsical-crack-rock 14h ago

Yes, Trump (and his inner most advisors) literally decided not to make that mistake again. “This is our last term, we are going balls to the wall and we really don’t need any obstacles. This time we do all sycophants and incompetent yes men. We do all scumbags in every position this time and we just go for it”

Imagine being such a maniac that you somehow managed to make Mike Pence seem like a wildcard in your last term, they are like this time around we need a real fucking idiot at VP, a truly spineless goober who will go out there and tap dance like a moron and get behind the dumbest shit possible, a man willing to completely sell himself out and look America directly in the eye and lie and then change his story a day later and lie some more. A true piece of shit.

27

First time around he had no idea the responsibilities or the actual job title. He thought he was ceo where he could run the country like a business, hiring and firing people at will. He learned in his second term he needs sycophants right from the beginning, people he has dirt on to do whatever he says whenever he says.

People are quitting but less frequently because they’re loyal to him this term

46

u/soximent 14h ago

You guys are giving him way too much credit and painting his first term as competent is grossly overselling it.

First term he wasn’t sure what he could get away with. He did the usual charades with tax forms and bibles and showing up to disasters etc. each time he pushed the envelope and fuck all happened he realized no one gives a fuck and he can just basically print himself money.

Now all the people that stick to him also know they can get rich off his ass and so they stick around until he literally tries to throw them under a bus

I’m super surprised. I honestly thought she was a true believer and wouldn’t be able to be convinced Daddy Trump did something bad. I honestly was expecting this to be Biden’s fault.

53

u/LinkedGaming 14h ago

She's been cracking for a while. Trump is forcing his most loyal sycophants to embarrass themselves for him publicly and then exiling them for embarrassing themselves because it makes him look bad, even though he himself ordered it. I think this either shook her faith because she realized Trump fully intended on letting her be a martyr against her will for his bullshit war that he's losing, or something she said made him kick her out.

The issue with finally pushing your #1 sycophant out the door for not willing to go far enough is that the only option left is your #2 sycophant who, by definition, will not be willing to go as far. Keep repeating until eventually you have nobody left willing to put their neck on the line for you.

25

u/aNewHope_v_ThaEmpire 13h ago

I think the problem will ultimately be that there are a few within the inner chambers that have entrenched themselves in ways that Trump can't easily push them out. Face-front positions like SecDef, State, Press Secretary, and even AG were all ultimately gonna be bag-holders, and have been expendable. The ones who won't be pushed out are the ones that we rarely, if ever, see on camera.

Steven Miller, for example, treads dangerous waters every time he lets his treasonous face see the sun, and if Trump truly turned against him, he'd be out. BUT, he's weasely enough to recognize the shrewd positions those like Russle Vought have put themselves into, and is clearly flying further under the radar than he was in the first term.

Vought is the prime example of someone who won't be thrown out, ever. Ask 100 average Americans who Russ Vought is and I doubt 5 of them could tell you what position he holds, let alone what he looks like. But next to Trump, he's the most powerful man in the United States. He knows the ins and outs of government well enough to break the machine where needed, and controls the purse strings almost unilaterally.

Vought is the one executing the Heritage Foundation playbook, and even if Trump got annoyed with him for whatever reason, Vought has enough power and leverage that Trump wouldn't cross him in the end. Trump knows he'd be dead in the water without Vought and his machinations.

We shouldn't care too much about the sycophants who are only in place for loyalty to Trump, we should be raising alarm bells over the ones we don't see on camera who are loyal not just to Trump, but loyal to the movement behind Trump. Zealous loyalty to a person is dangerous, but even more dangerous is zealous devotion to an ideal.

I mean, you can be a pedo and not offend anybody, you can keep it to yourself or get therapy or practice self-control and be fine in society without hurting anybody.

Trump is a serial-rapist with children high on his preferred list, although he's raped plenty of adults too. Trump actively (allegedly) had children kidnapped and raped, some allegedly have also been killed in his sex rings. That's like a whole other level, and not enough people are that upset about it.

I am almost certain Obama would never have done this. I am not sure what he would have done exactly. And I understand the importance of a president. It is not that he alone can make decisions. But it is extremely important that the president is not assassinated on any soils but more importantly on foreign soils. World Wars can start over that.

But you can be assured Obama would not have left all the staff and others on Air Force one while he hid in a food truck and took a different plane. Possibly they would have delayed the flight till a more secure time could have been determined. Or covertly put everyone on other short haul flights to a more friendly country then transfer everyone back onto air force one.

As a conservative person, Trump in no way is a Republican or conservative president. As a human being, he is a pretty vile person. Pick what you think is worse.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, I have a threat (ph) all the time. I'm No. 1 on their list, before you. But if I go, you go, right?

KEITH: But was there a specific threat today (ph)?

TRUMP: So perhaps someday, you want to change professions.

And this also confirms that the "assassination attempt" at the rally was 100% fake. He doesn't stand there and wave his fist and say "Fight!" when there's a legitimate threat. He cowers in a catering truck and runs and hides and leaves the real Americans to face the danger without him.

2.7k

u/DefenstratedTwice 15h ago

Trump NEVER mentioning his near brush with death is the only reason it being faked has merit.

He didnt award himself a purple heart or anything? Never aggrandizes himself or uses it to demonize the "left" EVER. Not one time?

Maybe he forgot about it?

1.5k

u/ClassicYotas 14h ago

Additionally, he likes to make a big show about punishing his wrong do’ers. The alleged assassin didn’t get any screen time. No public display pre or post trial.

A guy that allegedly tried to kill the president got less coverage than Fauci, a scientist who did his job.

It doesn’t sit right.

Also his ear is fine.

682

u/DrocketX 14h ago

Trump has spent more than a month now whining about the guy he claims cut the lining on the reflecting pool and his desire to see him punished. That's longer than Trump cared about a supposed near-death experience.

193

u/imahugemoron 14h ago

Exactly, it’s crazy how more people aren’t picking up on that, they’ll scream about the most pointless and/or made up nonsense for YEARS, but somehow for these two incidents which are super low hanging fruit to rally on, they just threw out their entire playbook? Just moved on? Bygones be bygones? When have they let literally anything else just go? And these were massive incidents

The guy who tried to kill him in PA was killed immediately. There was no trial because he was dead.

12

u/ChilledParadox 12h ago

killed immediately is doing a lot of heavy lifting when the guy with the gun was reported like an hour before he shot climbing up onto the fucking roof vantage point with a gun.

He was able to make the shot because Trumps security detail allowed him to take the shot. That's the smoking gun for me.

What trial? The kid was dead and also came from a Trump supporting family/was a Trump supporter. Not exactly something he wanted to draw attention to, so him and the media stopped talking about it almost immediately.

67

u/ClassicYotas 14h ago

See I didn’t know that. To my point.

You’d think he’d say something, “and I took care of the guy that tried to kill me, so you know, bad things happen to people that don’t like me”. Something stupid.

But thank you for informing me.

I would say there are also other reasons that give it merit but 1,000,000%, if that shit happened to me, you know I’d be talking about it every day.

If I had come up with an elaborated lie that didn’t land as well as I’d hoped, I also wouldn’t bring it up all that often.

They totally staged that shit by having a crazed supporter climb on that roof (in broad view of secret service) and having him kill a couple innocents to make the threat seem legit before they took him out.

Yeah, I already knew he’s the sort who would use his own wife and children (or anybody else’s for that matter) as a body shield if he thought he were in danger.

The fact that he wasn’t harping for months about how no president in history has ever come as close to dying from an assassination attempt also gave it away.  If it were real, he’d not only have been hyper fixated on it for months (instead of just focusing on reliving the glory pose for his adoring fans) but he’d have been on a revenge tear, looking to prosecute friends and family of the patsy as collaborators, as well as the “radical left” in general for “inciting” violence against him.

I mean, honestly, having your ear grazed by a bullet intended for your head would be traumatizing for anyone.  But to a malignant narcissist of Trump’s magnitude, it would trigger all kinds of paranoid crazy.  Instead we just got his usual crazy.

My money is on the whole thing being cooked up by Roger Stone.  Trump doesn’t have the imagination to plot something like that.  At some point in the future, that godawful golden idol of him striking his pose is gonna be in the history books as an example of the lowest depths of corruption and media manipulation in America's history.  At least one completely innocent bystander was murdered for that bit of theater.  The shooter’s death also probably would count as murder, even if the shooter volunteered knowing he would die rather than being tricked.

48

u/EverythingSucksYo 13h ago

Nah, I bet the shooter was promised nothing bad would happen to him. But to keep him from spilling the truth Trump had him shot on the spot.

This, even as he left numerous journalists on the original plane, an extraordinarily derelict move that effectively turned them into a decoy that might have been targeted. Stunningly, none were informed of the operation. It all perfectly captures Trump’s contempt for the media,

It perfectly captures his contempt for everyone who is not Donald Trump. There is no person anywhere he wouldn't willingly expose to danger if he believed doing so might benefit him.
