I’m Co-hosting BaldFest 2 in philly on Aug 29. Part meetup, part festival, part concert. Last year was a great time with a big turnout. If you’ll be in the area I hope to see you there!

Been balding since 25. Have known since some time that my combover was fooling no one (except myself), but this community gave me the final push.

I'm glad I've taken control of my look. Just wondering if a buzzcut would have been better than a full shave. Feel like I'm looking at Megamind in the mirror 😅

EDIT: Holy shit you guys are amazing. Y'all really know how to make a guy feel good about himself. Fwiw this really wasn't bait. I started feeling anxious immediately after the cut yesterday, wondering how fast my (little) hair would grow back. But now I'm feeling much better about myself. Wish I could thank each and every one of you :)

[UPDATE] Reduced the beard for the commenters that didn't like it. Feeling pretty fly. Excuse the mark on my lip, I burned it on a fresh dumpling.

Think I might be "growing" into my bald look, pun entirely intended. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback and support in my hair-loss journey!

Sometimes I’m not sure but I do think I do look a little better now. Hope that inspires someone to shave and grown a beard

Bald Picture Before vs. After!

Thanks to everyone from my previous thread for encouraging me. Before I was part of this community, I was incredibly agitated over balding. My brother is bald, and has been an abuser for years. Only last year, I was able to move out and never see him again. I'm soon to be 28 on August 27th. I constantly stressed myself for a hair transplant despite not even being remotely able to afford it. This community has been wonderful, and has given me the confidence I need to go bald. I now have a new avenue for my cosplay (I will still retain my old ones with wigs as they are cheap and convenient), I have had my friends compliment saying I look a lot cleaner and professional, and my head isn't as strained nor is my time and money having to constantly style my hair in a way to cover my crown and use all manner of hair products. I want to thank each and every one of you who commented on my previous thread for the words of encouragement. Love you all, now one of my cosplay partners is helping me build my first bald cosplay to match with his Bowser mascot suit. I'm going to be building a Doctor Eggman cosplay! Not only that, but my friends in Magic the Gathering will be helping me build Eggman as well for the Commander format. I look forward to showing the cosplay off along with other bald cosplays if it's allowed here.

TLDR: I've been incredibly self-loathing over my balding status, and now that I've shaved it off, I am much more confident and happy. It's taken some time to get used to because of being reminded of my abuser, but it's worth it. Love you all.

I wore a toupee in a delusion that it looked real, and I shaved this morning. The wig was mediocre but, could NOT exercise/live the way I wanted. I was always in a hat and worried people would notice.

28 years old, lost my hair after COVID a few years back, and couldn't embrace being fully bald.

I was doing buzz cuts, but after a week, it quickly started looking really bad. Today, I finally decided to shave my head, and man, this feels good.

Turns out, even being bald is still a lot of work - you have to look after it. I ordered a nice head shaver to maintain a clean, shaved look and will never go back to buzz cuts EVER.

Hairloss Is it time?

I am genetically predisposed to have thinner hair on top of my head and I’ve had people in my family mention it’s time. Should I? I come before the council humbled and expecting the worst but hoping for the best. I can handle the answer no matter what it is, I just need people with no attachments to me whatsoever to be blatantly honest with me
