Why am I suddenly seeing him everywhere? I'd barely hear about him until a couple weeks ago

108

u/Capraos 12h ago

Same.

98

u/copperboom129 10h ago

Yeah I had no idea this guy existed until last week.

Some kind of troll/bot told me as a progressive, I worship this guy.

I was like is he a politician? Some actual person had to inform me he's some kind of podcaster.

131

u/H3rm3tics 10h ago

Worse, he’s a streamer

78

u/ElAjedrecistaGM 9h ago

Dog shocker actually, the streaming he does is on the side

18

u/copperboom129 9h ago

He..surprises dogs? Like on YouTube videos?

Edit: im about to turn 40. Is dog shocker some kind of slang?

41

u/MythWeaverDM 9h ago

He has used a shock collar on his dog on stream. It’s not great

32

u/copperboom129 9h ago

Oh boooo this guy.

7

u/Amaskingrey 4h ago

And then he tried to prove that it wasn't a shock collar by putting it up to the camera... with the electric prongs poorly taped over

8

u/ElAjedrecistaGM 9h ago

The past year saw a controversy surrounding him about him using a shock collar on his dog to keep her in the background on his streams. He also pulled his previous dog's tail on stream too.

6

u/copperboom129 9h ago

Okay so now I have to hate this guy?

Wtf. I just learned he existed.

9

u/ElAjedrecistaGM 9h ago

Not necessarily. I wouldn't say I hate him, that takes too much emotional energy, but I'll always take the opportunity clown on him

8

u/copperboom129 9h ago

He's a psyop to discredit left leaning politics/s

Nah but his reputation is kinda shit for various reasons. I rather dislike how he attaches himself to progressive candidates publicly given this.

8

u/Ok-Traffic-5996 7h ago

He also shocks his dog so she would stay in place her his 8 he streams and says the wildest ass shit but just appeals to the most brain damaged online tankies that worship him like a Messiah. Real cringe stuff.

11

u/Dave_A480 6h ago

No... He's just a specific sort of left wing jackass ...

Which is not to say that ALL leftists are like that, but there is a definite population that seriously doesn't understand the breakdown of political support in the US & thus thinks progressives are entitled to drive the Democratic bus everywhere it goes....

Another example would be the asshat who lost the WA3 primary 16/34/34 ish (to Glutenkamp Perez and her Republican opponent), then had a massive temper tantrum about how he wouldn't support her campaign.....

Dude, you got 16% of the vote with your more-Lefty-than-thou campaign... Shut up and be a team player....

She was 20-30 points up against an opponent who dropped out and then re-entered like a month before voting, and she still somehow lost. I suspect it’s partly because she hitched her wagon to this guy. Another case includes Zohran who was a shoe-in to win, but the ads showing them streaming together came up, and he barely got 50% of the vote. I gotta wonder how Platner would have done had he stayed in considering he was also a strong advocate of him.

Oh and don’t wanna forget [she also collaborated with a streamer that said Jews are a “made-up” and “demonic” ethnicity](https://www.wpr.org/news/francesca-hong-hasan-piker-livestreams-antisemitism-governors-race-wisconsin), and yes, that streamer is an associate of this guy.

The right were the first to start covering him in response to seeing the candidates he was pushing for were winning even against large corporate money.

342

u/Slamantha3121 12h ago

He started wearing suits and trying to be seen as a serious political pundit and not just the left's chosen streamer bro. He is a calculating grifter. But, he is so toxic he has no advertisers and gets all his money from his fans.

218

u/Veidrinne 11h ago

He started wearing suits because another streamer made fun of his outfits ONCE. He also gets his money from his billionaire father who lives in Turkey

106

u/Past-Dark4350 11h ago

Shoe0nhead made fun of him for always wearing designer clothes.

86

u/Veidrinne 11h ago

Which is funny AF. Designer clothes to mao and 3 piece suits

11

u/w142236 7h ago

Oh no no no, that’s just a “Chinese suit” /s

37

u/Mrchristopherrr 11h ago

Really the only time it was funny was when he had the “make the rich pay” (where the a in pay was a little anarchy symbol) in a photo taken at the private gym of his multimillion dollar hollywood mansion.

68

u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 11h ago

What's funny is when you bring this up with his fans, and people who spend all day criticizing conspicuous consumption, the greedy capitalist elites living it up as the world burns, turn around and defend him needing to wear the most expensive designer clothes and jewelry. Beating the "yet you participate in society" meme to death in his defense.

39

u/Laphad 10h ago

They don't understand the difference between being forced to participate in a capitalist society and buying little accessories to flaunt wealth and taking full advantage of capitalism

u/tnobuhiko 9h ago

His fans are all upper middle class and rich kids who are ashamed they are born priviliged. So they just try to become the hero, the saviour by doing absolutely nothing of value. Like him.

That is the reason why they act like that. Wearing designer clothes, living in big mansions, driving luxury cars are all normal to them. All they need to do is point the finger at someone else that is "not doing enough" or "pay their fair share". Stop looking at them or point to them being exactly the same person they criticize, someone else somewhere is richer and says the wrong thing!

You can't keep saying others are not sharing or hoarding or something similar when you are a mega millionaire begging for donations on stream when the ad reveneue you get itself would be enough to cover the expenses of multiple families.

Problem with that is him being rich and connected is exactly the reason his braindead followers are following him. There is a reason his subs has a lot of overlap with celebrity gossip subs. Bunch of celebrity obsessed upper middle class and rich idiots masturbating mentally about being a good person. If he looked like some average joe they would not even entartain the idea of being in the same room with him. Bunch of superficial assholes who think no one else can see who they are.

What is it with Turkish genocide deniers being "left" coded self absorbed grifters. Between this guy and Cenk Uygur we are in "two nickels" territory.

93

u/SilasDaFish 10h ago

Cenk is Hasan's uncle

23

u/Socialimbad1991 7h ago

That explains sooooo much

48

u/christopher_the_nerd Truth Seeker 10h ago

Piker was even once a part of TYT.

46

u/Yochanan5781 10h ago

Ever since I heard about TYT in the early 2000s, I've had a policy of never trusting anybody that came out of a network named after the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide, and that policy has never served me wrong

20

u/Clay_Allison_44 9h ago

Ana Kasparian is a special kind of sociopath for working with them.

Some dems made the mistake of campaigning with him not knowing he actually hates the Democratic Party now republicans are using toxic things he said in attack ads.

99

u/FRagebait 12h ago

Well they must be pretty stupid then because it's not like he hid it.

35

u/DJAnneFrank 10h ago

He does, and he doesn't. He is a chameleon, he will be more "mask on" when he is around normal Dems if he's trying to ingratiate himself to them. When he is around his far left friends and audience he will let the mask slip, and you wind up with the clips that are making the rounds on fox.

It's obvious if you keep up with that corner of the internet. There's one clip where he basically lays out this whole strategy to subvert the democratic party from the inside. It's a clip from a communist podcast. The name is escaping me right now

10

u/Dars1m 10h ago

8

u/MetalDirigible 9h ago

This is good cope after him going to that pool party with Sayed.

Everyone's been looking for the Joe Rogan of the left, who would do for them what Rogan did for Trump, and by that standard he's not much worse than Rogan. But I guess the difference is Rogan is huge, and with this they're tending to boost Hasan's profile more than the other way around.

→ More replies (3)

3

u/Insightful21 8h ago

Naw these Dems knew exactly what they were doing. Hasan was just using them for clout and they were using him for his audience

25

u/Gorlamei 11h ago

"Some dems made the mistake of campaigning with him" and won.

Thr Democratic establishment is responsible for the GOP controlling the house, senate, executive, and judicial branch. They have exhibited and profound losing streak against the modern Republican Party, which is frankly embarrassing. Have you met them?

It amazes me that the energy is undeniably found in the Democratic socialist wing of the party and there are still Dems, who resent the grassroots mobilization for reasons I don't think they can fully articulate or understand.

15

u/WolfKing448 9h ago

Despite being significantly more charismatic than Haley Stevens, Abdul El-Sayed won his primary by a margin of less than 1%. It’s clear as day that he won his primary in spite of Hasan rather than because of him.

Furthermore, Hasan is going to turn on them when they confront political reality. He’s the left wing equivalent of Libertarians who gave Trump a chance (Justin Amash, Thomas Massie*, and Rand Paul*).

*not members of the Libertarian Party, but largely aligned on policy

Because he and several other far left influencers conspired to tank the 2024 election and ensure Trump won, but now that several candidates he supports are gaining traction, he’s suddenly acting like Trump is an existential threat that we need to band together to defeat by backing his candidates.

He was really fucking wrong on the the Kamala call. I don't think she'd have attacked Iran or messed up the economy with blind idiot tariffs.

She probably would have slow walked releasing the Epstein files, though.

Edit to add: She wouldn't have installed a brain worm addled nepojunkie as HHS director, either. ICE would still be an evil tool of oppression, just a lot more subtle.

372

u/Blue_Boobied_Footie 12h ago edited 12h ago

She "would have" for the correct reason - which is that the president is Not Supposed to Direct the DOJ.

Which is to say she would not have had her thumb on the scale for any reason regarding the epstein files.

Just because Trump treats the DOJ as his personal legal team does not mean that the function of the DOJ is to defend the president or to act at their whims.

117

u/JackLumberPK 12h ago

True. Legally speaking, her not releasing the Epstien files would be the right way to go (although a really bad look politically since most people don't seem to understand that the DOJ is meant to be separate).

HOWEVER, if Congress also passed the same law mandating that the files be released, as they did with Trump, I'm guessing she would've actually complied with it and also not had stupid fuck ups like releasing the victims names.

44

u/Icy_Yam5049 11h ago

She also wouldn’t have threatened people voting to release the files then push them out of the party. There is no way people look at what we have today because “both parties are the same” people and think this would be happening today had she won. You’re on crack to even begin that thought process.

Maybe you're thinking of like Maoists or Leninists or other insane tankies? Don't lump in "the left" with literal Stalinist/Leninist communists.

That's like getting mad at Charlie Kirk because some neo-Nazis said some heinous shit. While Kirk was a christian nationalist piece of shit, he wasn't a literal neo-nazi.

51

u/xesaie Human Verified 11h ago

Because his Stans are very good at cyberbullying and brigading.

35

u/Bajanspearfisher 11h ago

They're possibly the very best at brigading ive ever seen. They've managed to convince the internet ethan from h3h3 is a rabid zionist, despite him clearly being pro Palestine, but just anti hamas. They've convinced people that he didnt shock his dog, despite the manufacturer coming out and confirming the model of shock collar, he slanders basically any liberal content creator who's against socialism or isn't as extremist on israel -Palestine, and the brigade will find that post and confirmation bias through sheer numbers of voting will make the narrative stick. Speak out against hasan at your peril, you'll have people trying to dox you, reach out to work places if they find you and they will definitely bully the shit out of you and make up accusations.

30

u/Hazbro29 11h ago

I literally showed evidence of hasan pulling his dog by the tail and threatening to kill him and the response "its not a big deal"

Edit: I also find it funny he says I know nothing about animals despite attending an animal care specialist college for 3 years.

Pulling a dog by its tail risks severe physical injury and behavioral harm. The tail is an extension of the spine containing delicate bones, muscles, blood vessels, and sensitive nerves. Tugging it can cause nerve damage, broken vertebrae, permanent incontinence, and defensive biting

13

u/soggybiscuit93 10h ago edited 9h ago

There exists on the left a lot of accelerationists.

Those who are totally okay with someone like Trump winning the presidency because, in their opinion, he will accelerate the collapse of the US (and Capitalism), making a leftist revolution more likely to succeed.

5

u/Wiseduck5 7h ago

There exists on the left a lot of accelerationists.

And they really, really don't like it when you tell them that is exactly what the KPD thought too.

It ended poorly for them.

3

u/Odd-Time-2026 4h ago

They have this fantasy that they'll survive the collapse in good shape or survive it completely. Which means to me they're a combination of deluded, supremely privileged or they just don't live in the US. They're also fine with sacrificing thousands, potentially millions of people to achieve their goals. Don't forget that. They have no problem with Gaza being flattened despite claiming to be pro-Gaza and pro-Palestine.

One of her problems of not being more competitve was her inability to understand that people felt their economic health was not good under Biden. Perception is reality for too many voters, and that is not going to change quickly, or easily. Harris, actually told the whole USA, she would not do anything significantly different than Biden.

Trump, on other hand, knew how to influence low information, low critical thinking skills voters, by talking about the things directly that daily affected them the most; gas and food prices. People may have laughed at Trump for bringing out a table of grocery items, and telling (lying) to the people about how he would help them, but this type of directly addressing their daily struggles helped trump.

Obviously, trump does not give any part of a $[-]IT, about these people, and continuing Biden's economic policies would have been better for them; but that is not the point here.

He thought the socialists would be able to stage a hostile takeover of the democratic party, that's why he chose to work against democrat interests. He thought the democrats would realise they needed the socialists and therefore he could maintain a strong position in order to get his demands met.

Now they've actually tried to execute the hostile takeover and they've seen that the democrats are way more resistant to socialism than they thought, he has no choice but to admit he needs the democrats more than they need him. The democrats want the young left wing vote, but there's no point getting it if getting it requires swapping all the policies they care about for ones they view as destructive.

First opinion is wrong. He was upset that the Democrat party wasn't doing enough of door knocking or research prior to endorsing Harris. The work they did to familiarize themselves with the american people was so bad that Trump's team was on top of it since 2022. He hated that this was fact.

Second opinion is also very wrong. He didn't tell people not to vote for her, he just said it was dumb as hell for her to step up 100 days before the election with little to no familiarization with the people. She was very much in the background in comparison to Walz who campaigned a ton more than she did. She did high profile rallies but ultimately Walz was on the move every single day for 107 days.

Also, twitter really has a hate boner for Hasan just because he's been on the news supporting a lot of socialist Democrats. Non-right leaning Democrats. And /r/LivestreamFails is primarily a Hasan hate group so using it as an example is clearly biased noting.

11

u/King3O2 12h ago

I’ve not watched Hasan much since covid but the bits I saw during the 2024 election didn’t make me think he was saying that Kamala and Trump were the same except for Israel. I know he wasn’t a fan but I thought he still said to vote for her.

→ More replies (3)

13

u/KilgoreTroutttttt 11h ago

He literally never said "don't vote for Kamala", he voted for her himself, he said he's not endorsing her because he can't endorse a candidate supporting Israel. It's wild how misinformation is spread and becomes fact.

6

u/FusRoDawg 7h ago

Calling someone holocaust harris goes a bit beyond just refraining from giving an endorsement.

Also, he actually "unendorsed" kamala Harris.

Why should anyone listen to anything he has to say?

Forgot the part where he kept repeating Russian propaganda against Ukraine, and when Ukranians in Ukraine called him out on it, he called them perverts.

Also the part where we claimed that China is super supportive of gay rights and that any censorship or mistreatment of the LGBT in China was actually Apple’s fault.

your screenshot: Hasan refused to endorse Kamala because of the Gaza issue and has continued to defend this position

you: gotcha!

what?

13

u/KaiBahamut 12h ago

You can vote for someone without giving them your endorsement. If you were voting with a 100 other people on if everyone should be punched in the face or kicked in the groin, you might vote for and say that getting punched in the face is the better option but it’s not an ‘endorsement’- just the best of two bad options.

10

u/DeadEyeMouse 10h ago

And the only thing he said she wouldn't be better on was Gaza. The rest of that is you spouting bullshit. He openly said she would be better domestically than Trump, but that was such a low bar to get over that it didn't deserve any praise.
